Bangladesh Cardiac Society
Bangladesh Cardiac Society, the national Organization of the Cardiologists and Cardiac Surgeons of Bangladesh was formed on 5th January 1984 under the leadership of Professor Brig. (Rtd.) Abdul Malik with the commitment of improving cardiac care facilities in the country, organizing campaign for prevention of cardiovascular diseases in Bangladesh, to develop skilled health care personnel in the field of cardiovascular care, and to monitor and maintain the standard of cardiovascular health care system in the country. All qualified cardiologists and cardiac surgeons are eligible to become the member of our society. Presently we have got more than 600 members.To boost up the professional skill, Bangladesh Cardiac Society has been regularly publishing Bangladesh Heart Journal since 1986 and organizing seminars, symposium, national and international conferences every year. To create awareness among the people regarding prevention of cardiovascular diseases the Society has been publishing booklets, leaflets regularly and observes World Heart Day and World Hypertension Day every year.Bangladesh Cardiac Society has published a Guideline for Management of Acute Coronary Syndrome. At present Society is working to formulate a national registry to monitor the different aspects of cardiovascular diseases in the country.Bangladesh Cardiac Society is a member of World Heart Federation, Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology, World Hypertension League and SAARC Cardiac Society.
